Have just asked my partner and he says that the internal wifi stopped working when he installed Ubuntu and he could not find a driver to fix it and it stayed not working when he switched from Ubuntu to XP - again he says that he could not find a driver to fix it. It worked fine with Vista when first bought. Yes, there is internal wifi - sorry I forgot to mention that. There were no settings for a wired connection in Network Manager when I started off with this exercise. I have had to unplug the router now and then when it has got itself a bit messed-up somehow. That manual seems to suggest the laptop has an internal wireless adapter. Mark: QuoteUnless you've turned your routers DHCP server off, there should be no need to edit settings in NetworkManager for a wired connection. Hi - back on the case - thanks for the further help Mark and SeZo :-)
